Sweden Rock Festival in Norje, just outside Sölvesborg in Blekinge, is Sweden’s biggest rock and metal festival and one of the most pleasant festival sites in Europe. In 2027 it runs 9–12 June. Going for the first time? Here’s what we wish someone had told us.
Accommodation
Most people stay at the campsite next to the festival area – it’s half the experience. If you want to sleep better, there are hotels, cabins and private rooms in Sölvesborg, Karlshamn and Kristianstad, but they get booked up early. Left it late? Check the festival’s own accommodation tips and expect to commute.
Getting there
Norje is close to the E22. If you’re coming by train, Sölvesborg is the nearest station. Check the festival’s own information about buses and parking before you go – it changes from year to year.
The weather
June in Blekinge can be anything from blazing sunshine to cold, windy nights. Pack layers: a T-shirt for the day, a warm jumper for the evening and something that can handle rain. Nights in the tent can get surprisingly cold.
Plan your schedule
Sweden Rock has several stages and a packed schedule, and clashes are unavoidable. Pick your favourites in advance, decide on the clashes before you go and leave gaps for food and rest. With Festivalmate you can see your own schedule and what your friends have picked.
What not to miss
- The veteran legends. Sweden Rock is known for booking classic bands that rarely play in Sweden.
- The smaller stages. Some of the best experiences come from bands you hadn’t planned to see.
- The atmosphere. The crowd is a mix of all ages and famously friendly. Talk to your neighbours at the campsite.
The packing list
Don’t forget hearing protection, a power bank, a rain poncho and shoes that are broken in. Read our list of 10 things you’ll forget to pack.
